Cat No. 5

Last night, we had a few people over from church. Halfway through the evening, Nora ran into the room, made the cutest little kitten noise ever, jumped into my lap for a quick snuggle, and then ran away, lickity-split. Everyone was enchanted. "What an adorable cat."

The not-so-sweet side of Nora: Coach Nora.

Uh huh. Yeah. What a two-faced cat. She also offers complimentary wake-up calls at 12, 2, and 4. You tell me then if she's so adorable.

The next Jillian Michaels, perhaps?

But no, she is cute, I'll give her that. Unfortunately, she knows it and totally puts on an act to show off for company. Do you know how she usually gets my attention? It's not with squeaks and a snuggle. It's with scratching the couch or stickin' her buns down on my keyboard - not quite so endearing.

But over all, Norbit is doing well. She had a fun weekend at Memere and Pepere's and even survived the round-trip car rides with unusual grace. (Her father lets her out of the crate. So she can sit on her mother's lap. She's got one parent wrapped around her little claw.) Due to the humidity, she was miserable at the beginning of this week, but she's loving the current gorgeous weather. She is no longer afraid of the 'other cat' in the bathroom and has even managed to procure herself not one, but two boyfriends of the 'real cat' persuasion. ('Atta girl!) Otherwise, she is turning into quite the homebody and enjoys eating Greek yogurt, breaking into the catnip, and using her litter box instead of the great outdoors - all new habits I am not entirely thrilled with. Oh, the joys of having a daughter...
